Agile Software Systemssss

    Open Source CRM

The use of CRM software has grown substantially over the last several years and with many new CRM vendors entering the market, the options for buyers is a greater variety. If you are looking for a system that allows online order processing, up to the minute order processing, access to quality documents like Certificates of Analysis then search for vendors that offer browser based CRM software.

Agile Manufacturing Software Solutions - Survival Tools for the 21st Century

Global competition as well as the current economic conditions are making it more difficult for American manufacturing companies to survive. Manufacturers need to become more agile to compete globally with economies where the cost of labor is an almost insignificant part of the cost of goods and they have access to the same high tech manufacturing equipment. It is time for forward thinking, competitively focused comanies to move to the next generation of IT tools, and strengthen their manufacturing software and management information systems. Technology providers need to provide manufacturers with cost effective, highly mobile, highly adaptable, thin-client competitive capabilities. These capabilities will come in the form of software which is web-based (or web-native), object-oriented, model-driven, thin-client, configurable and offered as a service (SaaS).

    Making the move to SaaS

Moving to a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based solution may be one of the smartest financial moves that a small or midsize business (SMB) can make, but it will only pay off if you choose the right vendor.

    Scheduling R&D

I read a pretty good article not long ago on scheduling systems that are used in research and development. The article was called scheduling R&D and it’s on Production scheduling systems .com. The website is e resource for production scheduling solutions and it offers articles on best practices in production scheduling and advanced planning systems for use in manufacturing.

Finding Flexible Software with Thin Client

It is quite difficult for companies to find a software system that is flexible and can meet the requirements of their manufacturing process. One solution to these problems is implementing a scheduling system that utilizes thin client technology. Here is a link to a great article that talks about How to Increase ROI While Scheduling Production. It is a great article that offers valuable information on vendors that you should really consider taking a look at.

How wonderful would it be to become agile at Tango with only a few lessons? Well this website is a great new place to look for lessons, events, music and other great items which relate to tango.

    What is Finite Capacity Scheduling?

Finite capacity scheduling systems are systems that take a resource that is capable of doing a fixed amount of work and scheduling the workload based on the capability of the equipment. Most Finite Capacity systems incorporate a work centers table which contains the resources to be scheduled. The system will also contain a products table and a table of production standards that tell the system how long it takes to make a given quantity of a give product on a given work center. In addition most scheduling systems will contain tables that contain the times/widows that the equipment is available.

    Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

EDI has been a great success for companies. With implementing EDI there are accelerated turn around times, better accuracy on inventory items and less human errors. EDI is a transmission of data between organizations by electronic means much like a business conversation between entities. More than a hundred thousand companies have switched to EDI software from the more traditional version.

    Application Programming Interface (API)

API is a specific method in computer science that defines the ways by which an application program can make requests of operating systems or other applications. API’s that can be altered and integrated with applications has proven to be very beneficial for organizations. Vendors having the ability to modify data entry screens, reporting interfaces and charting objects make the system very accessible. API can control the behavior of objects specified in an interface. A program’s API defines the proper way for a developer to request services from that program.

    Benefits of Tailored Software

Designers of a software system generally build one of three general types of software. These types of software are usually considered; canned “out of the box”, customized, and tailored software. Understanding the difference in these software systems is one of the first comprehensive conditions to know when acquiring a new software program. There are positive assets to all three systems. After many months of research and working with these different systems, I have come to the conclusion that tailored software applications have the most benefits and have proven to be the most facile system.

    ERP Software Customization

Customization is one of the most controversial topics surrounding ERP software. A majority of ERP software buyers have every intention of leveraging out of the box software during the selection process. However, as project teams get into the details of the software during the implementation cycle, requests to make one or more customizations to the software are inevitable.
